Day 15: Communication Isn't Easy

I have been a public speak now for nearly 15 years.  No matter how long I have been speaking in front of crowds I still have to prepare … I still have to work hard at making sure that what I am about to say is clear, accurate and concise.  Not an easy challenge for any speaker.

Today, I had the privilege to speak to you, my church, on “Loving with Our Words” (I love The Point).  Words are extremely powerful.  The Bible teaches that there is LIFE or DEATH in the words we speak.  Whether they bring life or death simply belongs to WHAT we say and HOW we say it!  I have spoken words that were not the most loving at times … and I have been told words that have not been the most loving.  But all in all I turned out okay (I think) … but those words affected me, deeply.  Most of which I have learned to cope with and still some resurge in my mind every now and then.

Reckless words pierce like a sword, but the tongue of wise brings healing” (Proverbs 12:18).  I am trying to make it my prayer to bring words that heal!  It is difficult for a person who is sarcastic like me, but I am going to work on it.  I don’t want my words to be reckless!!!

QUESTION:  Who needs to hear me speak positive, encouraging words that heal?
