Mary and I were driving a couple of days ago and Malachi asked, “Daddy, are you going to start more churches?” I told him that we wanted to start a lot of churches. Mary jumps into the conversation and says, “Wouldn’t it be great if Malachi took over The Point after you!” I said, “Absolutely.” We concluded with knowing that it was his decision and God’s call.
But wouldn’t that be amazing!
My son gets why we do what we do! Malachi has been part of this church from the ground up – from door-to-door evangelism to events to meetings to anything. He has been a part of starting The Point. In fact, it is a family ministry!
The greatest legacy of my ministry will be how willing my children are to do ministry. I never want my kids to become bitter or resentful to the ministry. I want them to see how much I love it. I don’t personally care if my kids end up in occupational ministry – but it would be amazing to know they would be fine with it!
It would be awesome to hand The Point to my son – in fact, it would be kind of cool, but who knows what the future holds.
