The Pastor – “jack of all trades.” I think the best comparison to the life of a pastor is a juggler. It’s true. Jugglers attempt to spin, toss and continue the process with objects for as long as they are able. Pastors also juggle so much information and life transformation.
During the week … pastors juggle … spouse, parent, counselor, teacher, friend, prayer warrior, hospital chaplain, accountant, leader, visioneer, developer and more.
On Sundays … pastors juggle … (at least portable pastors) set-up, sound tech, lighting engineer, volunteer management, spiritual leader, preacher/teacher, guest relations, break-down and more.
Are you spinning yet? Pastor do a lot more than most people assume. Churches do not run themselves. They are run by effective leaders. Pastors that are truly working their ministry are the most effective time-managers that I know of.
“Obey your spiritual leaders, and do what they say. Their work is to watch over your souls, and they are accountable to God. Give them reason to do this with joy and not with sorrow. That would certainly not be for your benefit. Pray for us …” (Heb 13:17-18a)
Pray for your pastors this week!
