Dissatisfied Contentment
Have you ever been “wrecked?” I mean, have you ever arrived at the place where tears replaced your eyes? I have been there several times in my life. I have been having a lot of those lately. Today, my prayer is that God would wreck my heart for what wrecks his and that he would replace my dreams for His.
I think we all come to a place of dissatisfaction with life. Not because we don’t value or appreciate our lives, but that we want so much more. Every area of our lives must be somewhat dissatisfied! I want more of God. I want to have more love for my wife with each passing day. I want more for my kids than I had. I want to see our church do more than the average church.
I live in a state of dissatisfied contentment. What does that mean? It simply means that even though I am happy with where you are you are still driven to more. That’s how God wired us – or at least me. We must be satisfied with Jesus and Him alone – but we can never be satisfied with “average” or “status quo.”
