Vision Beyond You

Just walked in the door a few minutes ago – hugged on my two kids – and now reflecting on a very long day.  We had the privilege of hosting our first ever Leadership Roundtable with Mark Batterson (www.theaterchurch.com) with 100+ pastors/leaders.  I love this!  In fact, one of my deepest passion is “to help build the church, not just my church.”  Environments like today are proof that I am living my potential and purpose!

Two big take-a-ways from today:

  1. Do you have vision beyond your resources?”  I think so many people get “stuck in what they see” that they fail to see what they can’t see.  You don’t have to have a big church to have big dreams and you don’t need a big name to do big things for God.
  2. You have to know who you are and who you’re not.  Be comfortable in your own skin.”  Man, this hit home.  For the first 2 1/2 years of church planting I tried to replicate and duplicate – now I think I have figured out who I am and am totally cool with it.

I love creating learning environments!  Next to pastoring The Point Church it is a calling for me.  Long day, but amazing to know that our young church invested in 100+ pastors/leaders representing about 8,000-10,000 people in other churches … WOW!!!!
