Vision Beyond You
Just walked in the door a few minutes ago – hugged on my two kids – and now reflecting on a very long day. We had the privilege of hosting our first ever Leadership Roundtable with Mark Batterson (www.theaterchurch.com) with 100+ pastors/leaders. I love this! In fact, one of my deepest passion is “to help build the church, not just my church.” Environments like today are proof that I am living my potential and purpose!
Two big take-a-ways from today:
- “Do you have vision beyond your resources?” I think so many people get “stuck in what they see” that they fail to see what they can’t see. You don’t have to have a big church to have big dreams and you don’t need a big name to do big things for God.
- “You have to know who you are and who you’re not. Be comfortable in your own skin.” Man, this hit home. For the first 2 1/2 years of church planting I tried to replicate and duplicate – now I think I have figured out who I am and am totally cool with it.
I love creating learning environments! Next to pastoring The Point Church it is a calling for me. Long day, but amazing to know that our young church invested in 100+ pastors/leaders representing about 8,000-10,000 people in other churches … WOW!!!!
