I believe that God has called us to live with PASSION. I am by nature a passionate person – even visibly. But passion and excitement have been confused. I think I live somewhere between them both. Most of us do. But passion has to win out OR our focus becomes jaded.
Here are some differences:
- Excitement is external, but passion is internal.
- Excitement is short-term, passion is long-term.
- Excitement is developed, but passion is designed by God.
- Excitement is catchy, passion is sticky!
- Excitement is not always right, but passion is seldom wrong.
I believe that God has called us to be passionate — but for what? 1 Chronicles 22: “David said, “My son Solomon is young and inexperienced, and the house to be built for the Lord should be of great magnificence and fame and splendor in the sight of all the nations. Therefore I will make preparations for it.” So David made extensive preparations before his death. Then he called for his son Solomon and charged him to build a house for the Lord, the God of Israel. David said to Solomon: “My son, I had it in my heart to build a house for the Name of the Lord my God.”
David was nearing the end of his life journey and he told his son to build a “house for the Lord.” Why? Because David had a passion, a “heart for the house of God.” So I am praying for you and for me that we would all develop a passion for God’s House. That we would have such a love for being and building God’s Church so that more and more people would experience God’s amazing love!!!
Be passionate today!!!
