Freedom.

Throughout the Bible we are told to be FREE!

  • 1 Peter 2:16: “Live as FREE men.”
  • Galatians 5:1:  “It is for FREEDOM that Christ has set us FREE.”
  • John 8:36: “If the Son {Jesus} sets you FREE you are truly FREE.”

The reality is that God does not want us to live imprisoned by our past or pain … he wants to set us FREE from it … to drop it and move toward the greatest miracle of all … our lives being changed.  Your life and my life becoming more and more like Him.

The question we have to ask on this 4th of July 2012 is what keeps us from living FREE?

Today lets look inward to see what we struggle with, but let’s also look upward to see who will help us let go of what is holding us back.  I think a lot of us hide way too often.  We hide from who we really are … what we have been through … and where we are heading! And it’s that hiding that keeps us from becoming all that God has designed us to be … unleashing our full redemptive potential!!!

Most of our anti-freedom challenges could be placed in one of the following categories:

  • Emotional – consists of those things that we feel. It is the full range of what we call in the field of Psychology: Affect! It is something that appears virtually inescapable – but with God’s help you can get an emotional miracle!
  • Psychological – is a mind construct that affects the way one sees himself/herself, others, and the world. In essence, it is the mantra by which we live.  So often we don’t see ourselves the way God sees us.
  • Physical – affects our body. When we have a lot of sickness it affects other areas of our lives!  When you are going through some physical issues it truly affects us all spiritually.  How hard does it become to read or pray when you feel nauseous or weak?
  • Spiritual – affects every area of our life.  It’s the place where we find our lives totally off balance because we are not praying or reading the Bible or when we put past church experiences as the “right” way.  I mean we need some spiritual miracles!

Today, choose to live free because Jesus has already set you FREE!

Choose freedom.  Celebrate freedom.  Circulate freedom.

    Pastor,
Thank you for continually showing or reminding us that God loves us and for teaching us that all God wants for us is to be free and happy. Through my life, I had faced many problems and had seen how they had affected me emotionally, psychologically, physically & spiritually. But thanks to God, I had the fortune to know that with him …I am able to be who I’m now. He has giving me the chance to live with Him and help myself. For experience, I know that we are free from all of our bagged when we accept the Lord. I had also learned that is not just accepting Him…..is also living, following, learning more about him, and giving to others. All of this together helps us live a better, happy and free life.
Thank you God for accepting & loving us.
    God bless you Pastor.

    Mari
