Further Faster

We have to let the size of our God determine the size of our goals … not the other way around … We serve a HUGE God who wants everyone to draw close to him … he is unwilling for anyone to perish (2 Peter 3:9).  Here’s what I have learned – “it takes a team to achieve the dream.”  There is no way a small group can accomplish this … it is going to take all of us working together.

Working together helps us go FURTHER, FASTER!  Old Proverb:  “When you run alone you run fast, but when you run together you run far.”  Church, we want to run FAST and FAR … and we can only do that together.

Did you know that there are over 30 commands in the New Testament that we can’t do alone – that are done in the context of church!

  •  “Love one another” (John 13:34).
  • “Be kind and compassionate to one another” (Ephesians 4:32).
  • “Forgive one another” (Colossians 3:13).
  • “Honor one another” (Romans 12:10).
  • “Encourage one another” (1 Thessalonians 5:11).
  • “Motivate one another to good works” (1 John 3:11).
  • “Submit to one another” (Ephesians 5:21).
  • And more.

The truth is that we NEED each other.  You cannot function completely as a believer without the CHURCH!

1 Corinthians 12:  “18But our bodies have many parts, and God has put each part just where he wants it. 19How strange a body would be if it had only one part! 20Yes, there are many parts, but only one body. 21The eye can never say to the hand, “I don’t need you.” The head can’t say to the feet, “I don’t need you.”

Church, you are exactly where God wants you to be right now!!!  We need you!  You need us!  We are much better together than are apart!

You can’t say, “I don’t need the church.”  You do!  Not liking “The Church” is pretty much saying, “Jesus I like you, but I don’t like your bride.”  It doesn’t work that way … Jesus and His Bride are a package deal … just like Mary and I are a package deal!

Fall in love with the church again.  Jesus loved it so much that He gave His life for it!

  1. Casting Crowns… If we are the body motivates me to want to continue to be a part of the local church bc it reinforces scripture. “Jesus paid much too high a price…” for us to sit idol and not love eachother so that we can love others into the kingdom of God. Praying for you & Mary as you lead the Point into greater things. Praying and believing the mission and motivation will always remain the same and that Jesus & loving people will always be what drives the Point to excellence & serving!
