Challenge Status Quo.

(1 Kings 18)

Elijah was unquestionably challenged the status quo.  He refused to let the false god – Baal – and his 450 prophets to conduct business as usual in this region.  He challenged the King.  He challenged a false god.  He challenged those false prophets.

1 man named Elijah – stood against 1 king + 450 other people.
1 verses 451.

Odds were not in Elijahs favor … but when God is in your corner you will have the ability to challenge what has been “acceptable” and what has been “allowable.”  The church is called to PUSH THE LIMITS on what God can do in and through us.

William Jefferson Clinton: “I have news for the forces of greed and the defenders of the status quo; your time has come and gone. It’s time for change in America.”  It’s time for change in the church!  We in this house will never embrace status quo – we will push the limits – we will attempt great things for God – we will never settle – we will advance and advance and advance … because that’s where God is!  But in order to challenge the status quo you have to live in a constant state of breakthrough!

Status quo are barriers – they are chariots that we say we can’t beat.  But when God’s power indwells your life and heart there is nothing that can distract or derail God’s plan for you.

You + God = Majority

God by himself is more than we need to face anything.  Churches often get stuck.  We go through routine.  Break the cycle.  Try something different.  Refuse to settle for average.  God is with you.  If God is for you no one can stand against you!!!
