Silence is sinful!

Silence is sinful.

In the story of Queen Esther you see that she was a little intimidated to approach the King.  But Mordecai encouraged her to make the right decision and raise her voice for the underdogs.

Church, that mission is no different!  God has given us a voice … lets use it to speak for those who can’t speak for themselves … to fight social injustice … to speak God’s Word whether popular or not … to be a voice of hope, help and healing … to stand for high morals in a world with lowered standards.

Mordecai said to Esther – if you don’t use your voice God will lose your voice!

Pop-culture does not determine right or wrong … it can’t be the standard because its standards are always changing.  We need a standard that has not changed!  And that standard is found in God’s unchanging, unflawed word – the Bible!

The Bible is the authority on marriage … romance … dating … and sexuality.  God’s Word is our map for finances … integrity … character … and future.  It directs our decisions, passions and dreams!  We must use our voice to be the megaphone for God’s Word!

1 Peter 3:15: “Instead, you must worship Christ as Lord of your life. And if someone asks about your Christian hope, always be ready to explain it.”  In other words, speak up.

Esther was told if you don’t speak up it wont just affect you … listen again … “If you keep quiet at a time like this, deliverance and relief for the Jews will arise from some other place, but you and your relatives will die” (Esther 4:14).  Our silence affects others … speak up for what is right!

Let’s not be silent.
