You Are Attractive.
Attractive … Most people think that attractive is about what is most visible. There is a great verse in the Bible that is deeper than most might think … here it is …“How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of the messenger who brings good news, the good news of peace and salvation, the news that the God of Israel reigns” (Isaiah 52:7). Your feet are ATTRACTIVE?!?!?!
There are about 320 references to feet in the Bible … who knew? FEET … during Bible times they represented one of the dirtiest parts of the human body. People wore open toed sandals … walked on dusty roads … roads that animals also used … feet in that day were dirty, sweaty and grimy. And Isaiah says, “If you share the good news of God’s love the dirtiest part of you becomes the most attractive.” Simply because God’s love covers over your life.
The word attraction means “to be drawn to.” Each of us has the opportunity to become a magnet of hope for people. You see, when you choose peace over your problems … you become a magnet. When you live by faith, not fear … you become a magnet of hope. When you smile in the face of negativity … you become a magnet. People are drawn to you!
When you live, breathe and love Jesus you are a magnet … people see something different in you. To be fully attractive you have to be fully devoted to Jesus.
You see, those who don’t know Jesus need you to be an attractive magnet … Paul was writing to the Church in Rome when he said, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news” (Romans 10:13-15).
Paul is telling them BE ATTRACTIVE. Be a magnet. Do something more with your faith than show up. You are never more beautiful then when you are sharing the Good News of Jesus with people! A new suit … best make up … greatest shoes … nicest dress … cannot make you as gorgeous and handsome as sharing Jesus with people.
Here’s my new slogan: “Need a facelift? Share Jesus.” Be attractive. Find someone this week to tell about what Jesus has done in your life.
