Refuse to Have a Negative Mindset
If we flood our mind with negativity – we will become a product of our own thoughts. Your focus determines your forecast. And if we constantly focus on everything wrong … all the reasons we can’t … and always see the glass as half empty … we may never experience the life of excellence God wants for us.
Scripture declares, “Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour” (1 Peter 5:8). In another translation of the Bible “be alert and of sober mind.” To be sober means to keep your thoughts right – because if you don’t have the right thoughts the enemy is waiting for that negativity so he can devour you.
Negative thoughts give room for the enemy. He comes in and tells you things about yourself that are not true … “you are not good” – “you won’t get that job” – “you will never be healed” – “God does not have good plans for you” – “your best days are behind you.” We have to keep a sober mind – looking at what is right and not letting negativity control our thoughts.
People who grow up in an average household hear “No” or are told what they can’t do more than 148,000 times by the time they reach age 18. What is the result? We program each generation to be negative before they go to college!
Let’s start reprogramming our thinking. Don’t let the 1 negative comment someone said to you override the 7000 positive promises God has for you in the Bible. Refuse to have a negative mindset.
