I believe that God has given The Church a vision that cannot be delayed or denied. Not just our church, but the church, at large. It is a vision that often seems impossible, but I have to remind myself often that “nothing is impossible with God.”
It all starts with God. Scripture declares, “I know that you can do everything and your plans are unstoppable” (Job 42:2 – GWT). Self explanatory, but just for blog freedom, that means God is unstoppable. There is nothing God cannot do. He is limitless.
It starts with Him, but it doesn’t stop there. Paul wrote, “I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength” (Philippians 4:13). The apostle is saying that you are unstoppable. I know there are times when we seem to be cracking, but this unstoppable God is empowering us. He gives unstoppable faith.
This unstoppable theme continues with the church. Jesus said, “I will build my church and all the powers of Hell will not conquer it” (Matthew 16:18). So that means the church is unstoppable. Our church is unstoppable. Your church is unstoppable. Nothing can stop the church.
Mary and I believe we have an UNSTOPPABLE VISION from our UNSTOPPABLE GOD for our UNSTOPPABLE CHURCH. That’s why we work hard, pray hard, serve hard and love hard. This vision is unstoppable.
You can never shrink back from the calling that God has placed on your life. Push past the fear, overwhelm and worry. If God authored it, only He can alter it. Hell cannot stop you. The Bible reveals, “God has not given me a spirit of fear” (2 Timothy 1:7). Everyone usually focuses on the word ‘fear,’ but I want you to see the word ‘spirit.’ That literally means fear is a spirit that attacks your core. It tries to knock you around. But catch this: All the enemy has is fear. Don’t let your fear be stronger than your faith. Live fearless.
Determination opens doors. It unlocks your destiny. I have never met anyone who accomplished anything great without a determined attitude. “But as for you, be strong and courageous, for your work will be rewarded” (2 Chronicles 15:7). Find what drives your life and then pursue it with every ounce of strength you have. Mary and I are driven to reach Long Island with God’s amazing love. We are determined.
The moment you get stuck in what we did or what we are doing we are behind. We have to live forward. Think beyond now. We have to see miles/years ahead. Solomon wrote, “Look forward and fix your eyes on what lies before you” (Proverbs 4:25). In other words, live forward. Don’t allow what you used to do or who you used to be keep you from being what God has called you to be. After all, you don’t just go to the next level, you grow to it. That only happens when you live forward.
Mary and I have been leading our incredible church for 10 years, but we believe we are just getting started! The best is yet to come because we serve an UNSTOPPABLE GOD!
